Live. Learn. Lead. is a mindset and a way of moving through the world. Foundational to that is the word, “Live”.
I have existed in this world for nearly 50 years. For significant portions of my adult life I thought I was living but if I was truly honest with myself, I was more existing. I was, broadly, a passenger in my life. That does not mean that I didn’t do good things. In fact I’m proud of many of my accomplishments during those times in my life. But I wasn’t truly living.
To live is more than to exist.
To live is actively seek out the things that you want.
To live is to be present in the moments of life rather than a shadow focused on something else.
To live is to be true who you are – both good and bad – and be mindful of how those rough edges can effect others.
To live it to seek out new learning and experiences.
Coming out of the pandemic (maybe even going into it), there was lots of talk about self-care and wellness. The mindsets and habits of self-care sit at the core of what it means to “live”. If we are not able to take care of our basic needs, to manage the challenges life throws at us it becomes increasingly difficult to move beyond existence. It’s nearly impossible to live much less find the passion to truly learn and ultimately be in a position to effectively lead.
While my work has historically been with schools and educators, this mindset can help guide anyone in their journey to have greater impact at work or at home.
I encourage you to follow me on LinkedIn or Instagram to get updates as I explore how this Live. Learn. Lead. mindset can help you and your team move from chaos to order.
